Racism is unacceptable. Period. Discrimination is unacceptable. Period. There is no discussion to be had on these points.
Like the rest of the world, we have watched as the events of the past few weeks have shed light on long existing systemic racial inequalities. However, we are firm believers that actions speak louder than words and felt it was not adding value to the conversation to speak up until we had an action plan in place to address how the iF3 can contribute to being part of the solution.
The events of the past few weeks speak to the inarguable need for black and ethnic minority voices to be properly heard and have a seat at the table in decision making in government, business, and sport. In order to actively contribute to this need within our sport, the iF3 has committed to the following 3 step action plan:
\1) Ensure that our internal structures (committees, commissions, etc) are ethnically balanced and that black people and other ethnic minorities are adequately represented.
\2) Work with our National Federations to ensure that they are working to similarly balance their internal structures, and discuss with them other initiatives they can take in their countries to engage ethnic minorities in the sport and increase representation.
\3) Actively seek out partners who are interested in helping us develop programs that will increase inclusion and diversity in the sport and who can help us to understand and educate us on the issues at play on a deeper level.
There is no room for racism or those who support it in our sport.
